What Matters

It’s so hard to think that God might love us, isn’t it? And yet – He Already does, whatever we do or however we feel. No matter where you’re at now or where you have been, He loves you utterly and completely. That’s hard to hear and it’s hard to believe, but it’s the truth.

Don’t listen to the lies. Listen to Him.

To the love that is terrible and beautiful, unquenchable and unending.

He chose us:

“You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Pet 2:9)

He gave His son for us:

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17)

He has adopted us:

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” (Rom 8:15)

He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. (1 John 4:9)

He will never leave us or forsake us. (Heb 13:5)

He LOVES us. Nothing can separate us from this love. (Rom 8:38-9)

And this – THIS – is what matters.

  1. John 3:16 is the cornerstone in really opening this one, because as we look at the life and the character of the Son, we truly see the love of God for us. Look at Him, humbling Himself before His disciples on the night He is betrayed and we there see the real “Lordship” of His Kingdom – it is to this love we are called to run, and when we see it, how can we not run to such a wonder – our whole selves will be ravished by such love!
