What shall separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus Christ our Lord? Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation (Rom 8:38-9).

Not the angry words you said but didn’t mean. Not the addiction or the abortion or the affair. Not the internet history that won’t delete. Not the bottles nor the bank statements. Not the betrayals nor the boasts. Not the bruises nor the kisses. Not a lifetime of pain and mess and mistakes.
Nothing in all creation
so tell me.
What have you done that cannot be forgiven?
What makes you so ugly that Christ’s beauty cannot shine?
What makes your sin so terrible that the cross is not enough?
The King versus The Accuser.
The Truth versus The Lies.
The Gospel – that’s not just for other people. It’s for us too.
And so, apparently, we will have all eternity to thank him, Lord of lord’s, King of King’s. And to have the confidence in how to use the apostrophe properly…One begins, amidst all the problems, to feel slightly glad to be alive. Then come back for another helping, and then, be even more grateful.
